About Me
I am based in the beautiful Devon countryside where, along with my dogs, I take my inspiration from. I began drawing Wheatens during my first year at Falmouth University, where I studied for a BA(hons) degree in Drawing. I missed Millie a lot during my time studying so drawing her and other wheatens was a way of channeling those feelings and turning them into something positive. As a keen photographer, I used photos that I’d taken of Wheatens and turned them into drawings for cards, commissions and prints that I sold at dog shows; that’s where it all began...
The response to my work has been overwhelming and after a lot of hard work, research, continuous love and loyalty from my Wheatens and support from my customers worldwide, I have achieved much more than I thought possible from my little studio here in Devon.
Whilst I learnt many valuable skills and techniques from my foundation diploma in art and design and my degree, for me, illustration comes from the heart and the love of my dogs. Every one of my Wheaten illustrations, whether on a card or as a commission, is drawn with the love that Wheatens radiate in the forefront of my mind and portrays their quirky characters through pencil, pen and ink.
I read everyones messages and prefer a personal approach with customers. Whether you’re looking for a celebratory illustration or a print that signifies something deeper, I will listen, understand and endeavour to represent that emotion through my work.
